Indeed I am very envious of those armies as I am close to revamping my 1914 Belgium armies on very similar bases.

I salivate eveytime I see a post from you guys, knowign that Im going to see great figures and great terrain. This post doesnt disappoint.

The question on my lips, if no one elses is, did you remember the rules for support squares? 😂🤣

Also, those German Stormtooper figures in armour are lovely. Where are they from?

Favourite picture is the one with the various command groups  pointing at each other as if in complete disagreement over how to proceed!

They are not German Stormtroopers but Italian Arditi, wearing "Farina" body armour ; the figures are from Irregular Miniatures.

I must admit those explosion markers are very impressive. How did you make and colour them?

These are 3D prints, a gift from Xavier.. The "smoke" is painted black, with a light-grey highlight brushed from above - a bit like when doing "zenithal" painting. The "flame" is painted white, then - going up - yellow, then bright red.

Thank you very much for your kind comments, gentlemen...

I printed them from the following link :

Note : as it is a huge object, do not forget to rescale it... I printed them at 22 and 25% of their initial size.

Mission 5 : Lake Doïran sector

April 1917; in the Lake Doïran sector, it is time for another offensive...

The Entente Camp (Allied forces) :

The Allied force is under the British command of General Sir G. Ladall, commander of the army of Salonica. It has a division of high quality Commonwealth troops, but also a brigade of the reconstituted Serbian army, fully re-equipped with French uniforms and equipment ; they are all veterans, some of them joined the army 5 years ago, and ready to fight at the risk of their lives for the reconquest of their homeland... We also note the presence of a Greek contingent, provided by the Greek government for demonstrate its goodwill regarding its involvement alongside the allies.

Centrals :

These are elements of the 2nd Bulgarian army, under the command of General Olyounidislov, and supported by the 26th Division of the 20th Ottoman Corps. With the exception of a few professional units, the troops of Emperor Ferdinand, poorly fed and ill-equipped, are demotivated by a conflict that is bogged down, and goals they do not understand. In addition, many units are reserve or irregular troops (Opolchenies, Comitadjis), placed in the front line to swell the numbers, but whose use as "cannon fodder" leaves little doubt...

Congratulations to Pierre for his overwhelming victory (!!!!) The Centrals now regain the advantage to tackle the last scenario of the campaign... (70 points in advance !) The British and Serbian armies were literally routed after violent counter-attacks...

Here are some pictures of the drama... During the battle, Allied armies (the attackers) failed nearly all their numerous assaults ! But what a game !! It was a fierce one ; the losses were huge !!

The next game (the last one of the campaign) will be difficult for the Allied forces, as they are led by 70 points by the Centrals !  :P

Xavier and Pierre,

Wow - simply wonderful.

At least (courtesy of your Mill article - thanks!) I now know how you take those photos. I just need to learn how to do all the other stuff...

It looks like a great game - thank you for sharing.

Mission 6 : The final blow

Here we are !  :)

We played the last scenario of this campaign : "The final blow".

Triplice player took the german army (n#22), a formidable army with many veterans from the western front ; the Entente player took the "French Army d'Orient" (The Mill n#12). It was a 620 points scenario.

To sum up : Entente player started with 70 points to catch up from previous games in order to win the campaign. He played as the defendor. Triplice player was the attacker.
The game started with 2 assaults from german "Strum truppen" against 2 objectives : one was taken by the german player.
Entente player had to fall back from 2 objectives, and tried to reorganize : he was waiting for reinforcements !
After a terrible german artillery (point effect) blow, the french player assaulted the positions previously lost, and after several attempts, succeeded in capturing them. Objectives #1 and #4 were captured and retaken several times.

At the end of the game, French player sized 3 objectives.

After having calculated the total points for the 6 scenarios of the campaign, there was only... 4 points between the 2 opponents, in favor of the german player !!!! 4 little points... Which results in a ex-aequo !!  :D

Here are some photos of the drama...  ;)

Amazing stuff I enjoyed reading about the campaign. I was wondering what size bases are you using for the standard infantry? They look amazing!!!
