He is interesting, broad ranging and not precious about himself as he'll always be happy to be corrected . I'd also recommend The Metatron's YouTube channel too. Oh and Tod's Workshop with his reconstructions of ancient weaponry.

His obvious love of tanks is there. Describing conditions inside a MkIV and trying to squeeze into a Churchill are both informative and amusing...

LLoyd / Lindybeige certainly makes interesting videos.

Much history, and also some interesting gaming content for those interested in Crossfire, or Dungeons and Dragons.
I think most here will find his approach to gaming highly accessible.
None of this "3 colour shading of 28mm figures" much more "Get them battle ready and on the table".
However he also scratch builds some really effective urban terrain, so don't go expecting "Sprayed green with a couple of fleshtone blobs".

His "one-take" approach to Vidcasting, is almost unique, and leads to much diving off at tangents.
This is frequently amusing and informative.

The videos tend to be on the longer end of YouTube Videocasts.
I very occasionally find myself thinking "This could have been a tight 20 minutes without all those pictures of the horse that kicked you".

Overall, I'll give them a highly recommended.

He's something of an eccentric with very definite views sometimes deliberately controversial- his "why vegetarians should be forcefed lard" article and ban from Newcastle University computers are evidence of this.
Big into Crossfire.
Definitely in the do it yourself and wargaming should be cheap school...

Here's his blog / website: http://www.lloydianaspects.co.uk/

Just in case someone hasn't come across it before.

Best wishes,

As a vegetarian I will avoid him. Sounds a bit peculiar to me.

I'm vegetarian as well. His article is deliberately provocatively titled - his argument is that men only become vegetarian to please the women they are with (not sure he addresses gay relationships - he probably has some views on that as well).

I can't remember if it was this that got him into hot water with the university; he ended up agreeing to an interview with the local rag (Newcastle Evening Chronicle) and was pictured on the town moor with cows behind him under a sensationalist headline......

This is the same paper that solicited an interview with the Tyneside Wargames club and pictured a friend of mine holding some figures under the headline "blood and slaughter in the church hall" ; they met  (and still do) in a church hall the committee of which were not best pleased with the publicity......

Odd one for me. Some of the stuff I've read, articles and that, seems pretty sound and the guy seems to know what he's about. I've tried to get into his YouTube stuff though and the bloke just - nah I can't get on with his style. I'm sure (in fact - I KNOW) that he absolutely hits the mark for some others but it's not for me, I'm afraid.

Didn't know about any provocative views he held but tbh that would seem to suit his YouTube style from what I can see of it. Mind, diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks eh?

Well, he, or his parents, can't spell Nicholas.  ;D

Greek (or Geek) transliteration...

His style rubs me up the wrong way.
