Thats quality Derek. How do you make the thing to put on the model ?
Julian

Googled how to overlay photos and found many free sites to do it. Saved the picture at a larger scale then just reduced the size until it fit the building side. Pretty simple solution really.

Yep, another piece done. Decided to clad this building in "wriggly tin" for that run down look.

Running out of inspiration a bit but away later this week for a few days. Who knows what I will dream up or "find" to add to stuff!

Very nice, Derek.

Looks a bit posh for AK47!

Simon

Not when you see it close up. Have some chain link fencing on its way to add around the storage area and the smaller building with the chimney.

A few more bits finished now.

Great job, Derek!

I particularly like the factory, which is very nice indeed.

And the leaking oil is suitably yuck. I'm surprised that anyone thought to put a bund around the pumping station - your country must be highly developed!

Pipeline is underground (slightly) need a place to put some valves and sh*t. Also made a handy dumping ground. Make a reasonable gully I think

Excellent work Derek. I'm a out to embark on my own scenery build, having cut some old hardboard up into appropriate sized template pieces.

Moggy

Sean, I would suggest just getting plastic sheeting. Its only a couple of quid per A4 sheet and far easier to work with than hardboard. Many companies do it and it is readily available from EBAY. Also a lot cheaper than a modelling shop that way.

Yes I think I'll try it Derek. Martin G uses plastic for his basing of scenery.

Is there a particular thickness?

Moggy

The last lot I got was 1.5mm and seems a little "bendy". I would think 2 or 3mm would be better although the 3mm stuff I used was a bit of a bugger to cut to shape and file down the edges.

Pays yer money and takes yer choise!

Also what I have found is using clear perspex/plastic allows you to paint the underneath and retain a degree of depth when right way up. Just a little dry brush and you have a water surface and a river/pond bed.

Jimmy James

Handsome job of that! Lovely stuff Derek.

Moggy

Another bit done. Could also be used for western/ponywars.

Objective markers done. Think they will stand out enough?
