Just found out East Riding Miniatures has ceased trading with Tony Barr deciding to retire, following the death of his wife and ongoing  health problems.
I'm sure that even if you haven't bought any Platoon 20 or Lamming, you may have bought some MDF bases......

I used to have a lot of dealing with Tony mainly around  mdf bases, I always found him a thoroughly decent person who has my best wishes for his retirement.

Colonel Kilgore

Very sad for Tony. I have bought a lot of MDF templates from him. I equally wish him the best for his retirement.

I owned a lot of 25mm Lamming Medievals .
They were great because they were multi head/weapon etc.
I do not know if Bill Lamming is still alive??

It would be a shame to lose the Lamming range.

I wish Tony all the very best and advise him to get some friends around for a game of soldiers.

Real life is catching up with the hobby it would seem. I'm seeing a similar pattern with an awful lot of colleagues at work retiring atm. It seems to be something in the air...
I agree with Martin, it would be a shame to lose such a household name in the hobby such as the Lamming range entirely but I do wish Tony all the best in his retirement.

Sad to hear this.
I bought a bunch of Grumpy's Portuguese and Malays from ERM a couple of years ago.

Tony was extremely helpful advising me which casts would come out best (The moulds being rather old).
The box dropped through my letterbox a couple of days later, and both armies have seen action since.

If I can improve my Camera-Fu, they may even appear in the 15 mill some time soon.

That would be good Steve
