As I sit awaiting the postman to deliver a parcel, I've been painting some AWI dragoons (video to follow).

This caused me to flick through the Washingtons Army rulebook and I saw this picture

It made me think of that day playtesting the rules and having a slap up meal in the pub. But it also made me feel a bit sad about Rob, seated next to me pulling the funny face and Paul Coker, far right. Both lost recently and sorely missed.

Anyone else have any photos of games days/playtest days/weekenders of yore to remind us of happier times?

Not quite!

Here's some I've found on my computer.

Those arms belong to Les as we playtested the battle game in Longsbips at Martins House.

Quite a turn out for this one above. Longships playtest day. Nigel, Rob R, Les BT and Paul C all at one table I see.

Martin and John getting into the spirit. CWB day in Bournemouth.

The James gang gathered for one last picture together.

Don't recall the show but Martin is demonstrating Longships.

PBI day in Weymouth. Was it a social club or Leisure centre?

Rob R planning my downfall. I think it was Vietnam or PBI. Cant recall but it was in the workshop.

Another PBI day at the old Entoyment this time. Ian Dickie made an appearance.

This was the early stages of my planning for my Somme game having just bought the trenches from Ironclad Miniatures.

A typical scene from a Weekender.

The band of brothers.

Fisticuffs at the Pavilion.

The lads refighting D Day. May have been Fisticuffs as well.

One of the Square Bashing days in Daventry.

My good friend Keith playing Vietnam with an authentic Vietnam era US Marine helmet.

CWB day again at the old Entoyment.

Big Mike won!... er... What did you win Mike? 😅🤣

Pirates at another weekender. I think that's the back of Dorchesterbede!

That's really cool Dave.  That's a proud moment there.  Thanks for sharing.

I like the one of Us around around Stewarts Beachhead game at Fisticuffs. That was the game that inspired and went on to become our DDay Gold Beach.
I will dig out some myself, I know I have some from Tuckton etc.
There are some good pictures in there, I even had some hair back in the day....

We were all younger once Miles. Good days for sure.

The chap in question looks like Tony Horobin from Somerset (no relation to the Wyke club fellow). He had a Viking Army and was a devout Pagan. Pauline and I were invited to his  Norse wedding - owls wing and  all! His Levellers Club mug read, "Tony the Tiger"...
