How about this as a start (needs refining) idea.
1. Agree upon an RFCM game. Facilitator needs to own 2 armies.
2. Two teams (2 per team) of players are invited to choose scenery, troops etc (i.e the pregame).
3. 3rd party/facilitator sets up the battle as per the team instructions.
4. Teams view the initial deployment and then give detailed plans of how they want the play to go (maybe a time slot?).
5. Facilitator plays entire game with plenty of photographs.
6.Facilitator reports back to teams on the outcome.
Pros
Battle gets done in one session ( i.e. an afternoon or evening).
Each team has a pair of players so they get to chat and plan.
Game has to remain set up for a day whilst the two teams think about their plan. Unless they are all available (pre agreed timing) for a 1.2 hours slot before start of play.
Battle report can be seen by all members.
Cons
Lot of work for the facilitator
Team cannot affect the game once started
Facilitator needs a camera, make notes and ability to post pictures.
Battle would be too long to do a live 2 hour commentary (or can that be done?)
Plan
Maybe martin could do a first battle and then we could improve the concept.
Consider BB because it is easy to make battle plan.
BB is also quite short.
I think the "fight as a team pair" might generate more talk than one v one.
Thoughts??
martin?
