Colonel Kilgore

Could probably also use some of the current VC with bolt-action rifles (Vietnam pack #53: probably with head-swaps, which work nicely with these figures: I have done some for my VC force)?

The first couple of pacs will be "basic" in terms of weaponry. First pack will be  in loincloth with crossbow. Second packs is with spears / H to H etc. Third pack will be leaders.
Hope to get pack 1 out next week???

Colonel Kilgore

Sounds very good, Martin - I think quite a lot of folk have been waiting for these!

Now, at the risk of adding to your workload, here's a thought... Given that you have spent a lot of time researching the next batch of Vietnam figures, once they start coming out, would you mind sharing (here and/or on the PP website) your key references and/or some basic painting guides? This might make the slightly esoteric Montagnards more accessible for many of us. I remember years ago when Essex would always provide a painting guide with their army packs: these were a boon for an impoverished teenager with no easy access to a local library.

I will get some bits of info out there!  Thanks for the anticipation.

Definitely looking forward to fielding these on the table.

Two new pack slots have appeared on the Web site, so they must be imminent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps they will be ready for release at Colours 2018!!!!!!!!

Sean Clark

And a nice description of what to expect!

Leslie BT

Web site been updated, might be in the workshop being turned into production moulds!!!!!!!!!!!

Colonel Kilgore

Well, it appears (PP website) that the first 2 packs (crossbows and spears) can now be purchased - looking forward to some pictures in due course :)

Colonel Kilgore

Good point Sean. And then I could take my own photos :)

Leslie BT

The start of mine ordered.

Get on and buy some then you'll know what they look like. For the rules you only need a couple of packs and some veteran Americans for the command platoon.

Colonel Kilgore

Les - check out the News feed today - you saw them first here  :)

Regarding the forces required for the Mountain Tribes variant of the Vietnam game, though, I think it's rather more than a couple of pack. Don't units 2, 3, 4 and 5 all need to be VC-style, so each of up to 6 bases of 2 figures, i.e. 48 figures in total, or 6 packs? Plus a few more to guard their Green Beret advisers in unit 1?

I was thinking that one pack of each of Martin's proposed new sculpts should just about cover it.
