Any suggestions for the base and contrast colour for painting British khaki that's a bit faded.

This guy did a tutorial on YouTube. 

I don't know if I like that stuff.  It always seems to come out too dark.

You might try contrast paint Aggaros Dunes with maybe a bit of Plaguebearer Flesh mixed in .. that should do the trick

That tutorial - Wyldwood is way too dark IHMO. He uses the Dunes colour I recommend for the uniform on the backpack so you can see the effect . I'd drop a little light green into the mix
