Interceptors & Intruders
« on: August 05, 2020, 12:55:11 PM »
I've only recently spotted the 1994 "Interceptors & Intruders" space fighter combat PDF on the PP rules section - available for free download.

Sci-fi's not normally my thing, but I found the rules have quite a "fun" feel to them, and I also liked the little sketches included here and there within the main body of the rules.

The principal thing that struck me was the use of movement templates: I'd thought that these were a "first" for Wings of War World War 1, but now realise that the RFCM rules came out a decade or so earlier...

An interesting blast from the past!

Simon

An interesting set of rules. Whatever happened to the range of space craft?

Thanks for the positive notes chaps.

The range of spaceship fighters went to Moonfleet Miniatures of Bournemouth.
I think their stuff is now cast by Black Cat bases of Bournemouth.
Not sure if they ever went back into production though?

Amy little space ships could effectively be used though.
I think an ideal might be star wars fighters??

It might be a fun late evening game to try at the next Weymouth Wargames Weekend, whichever year it next happens in? We could all buy a handful of ships and give it a go?

It also involves cutting out. I've got my Blue Peter badge for that.
