Another great model Simon....

I am reminded about all those "bumps" on the top rear deck....in amongst those are the officer cabins & the water powered facilities. Apperantly  having the large paddle wheel had advantages.

The tall smoke stacks ....after she sank....the smokestacks were the only remaining feature left above water. One of her sister ships proceeded to ram them (removing them from sight) so the confederates had no marker for her & thus couldn't start salvage operations.

I have found that inks and washes work very well painting ships.  I started with them on the pirate ships and will go back to using them on the ACW ships that I have to finish.
