Hello,

Long time since my last posting but a regular reader of the excellent food for thought and feedback on this site.
The reasons for this message is to ask Martin to consider adding advancing ACW Zouaves and above all to ask the ACW experts if that pack of heads (94) Italian Fascist Cap would be valid for ACW zouave headgear, the chèchia, which as you know is that soft fez cap. The picture of the headgear on the website is not that helpful as it is seen straight on and the picture below, which would clarify it, does not zoom.

The ACW zouave head is a chechia wrapped in a turban. The Italian fascist head looks like it might make a good proxy, but it doesn't appear to have a tassle.

That's the thing, I can't see if it has a tassle or not, if it does, it seems perfect for the zouaves. Come on Martin , tell us if it does or not! ;-)

If you make an order for anything else, do ask for a sample of the head and we will put one in.

Thanks Martin and Leman for your time and effort. Wow, I'm really happy to hear that they could fit for the zouaves! I'll definitely make an order for them in the coming days and maybe even post a picture or two to inspire other ACW fans here. Thanks.

Thanks for raising it Q - it would also be useful for giving some standard figures a zouave head as those who have given up most of the uniform, eg 4th Michigan. Also for some variety such as among Wheat's Tigers, who wore a real fish mash of zouave and non-zouave 'uniform'

Heads and figures have arrived...and I've got a painted sample to show the RFCMers. Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a computer dunce when it comes to doing anything other than typing...The figure looks pretty nice is all I can say as way of a teaser!

Right....methinks the Italian Fascist Cap head works really well with the ACW zouaves, in fact for Louisiana Zouaves it's practically perfect. The tassle for this unit should be blue but it doesn't look so good so I have opted for red. Clipping the head of the original marching Zouave was a nightmare as the head does come into contact with the musket, but for other zouave figures it would be pretty straightforward. Now my units for Civil War battles have 6 figures to a base, so with the exception of the 4 command figures, I've only got another 31 heads to complete which as you can all imagine is an absolute nightmare. Anyway I hope to have inspired Zouave fans to give those Italian caps a go.

Martin, I love your range...it's without par in the 15mm world, but it needs an advancing zouave pack! ;-)

It corrected itself anyway when clicked on. Very useful head indeed and nicely painted - will get some for the 4th Michigan and the Tigers. He certainly has a lot of bottle (chuckle).
