Cost of two shows I have organised
The Bovington museum gives over the museum for free hoping to make money in the restaurant/shop and on the door for new attendees they also provide about 100 tables free. I have to pay for staff (£250) and advert. Peter from Entoyment let me use his insurance to cover the show, hence the low cost to traders.
The last time we put Fisticuffs on it cost over £1000, (£750 venue, £80 Insurance, £116 table hire (30) plus adverts £150)

Sean , Bovington show had about 2/3 traders as small original companys with a few new to the hobby this year and most have said they would like to come back next year and I have had about 6 other ask to come as well so expect nearly 2 dozen traders next year.
The main re-sellers were
Entoyment
The PiTgaming shop
Lesley bits box
Big in their scale were
Peter Pig (15mm)
Early war miniatures (20mm)
Warlord (25/28mm)
Next year Flames of war have expressed an interest in coming along.

Most WAR games event managers need to look at the other hobby show organisations.

A few years ago I went with a railway modeller to put on a display at a local show. Totally different experience. We were offered a hot drink as soon as we arrived to setup and then again just before the show opened. Before lunch the organiser came around and took orders for lunch, a choice of two different hot meals and a hot drink. Again mid afternoon a hot drink and a choice of cakes.

Here when we put on a display at a local event we had a complete 4 course meal, starter, main, cheese and a sweet along with the choice of cider or wine. We had this on the Saturday and Sunday.

Les, at the Weymouth weekend you have tea, coffee and soft drinks at arms length.
Choice of chocolate bars, biscuits and Pringles .

Agreed Stewart, the refreshment are plentiful at the WW weekend.

Would have to agree WW is refreshment friendly - I have to remember to stop myself from drinking to much coffee.
