Excuse the question but why do the SK have swatches?  Is it for the re-enactors to source their own material for clothing?

There is a whole cottage industry making period correct items for different re-enactment groups.
This was in a living history camp, the lady was just showcasing her wares*


* which sounds a bit saucy, but then I grew up in the 70s
