Hello Martin,

I've heard that you were about to re-tool the British WW1 range...  :-[ :'( :'(

Please, please Don't remove from the catalogue those superb BEF early war british, that are the very best 15mm Tommies ever produced !!!  :)

There are only two "old" WW1 British packs which to my humble advice eventually really need a re-tooling : the Indian infantry (93), too small, and the scottish infantry (20) ; all the other are masterpieces which deserve to stay in frontline !

Those are lovely-looking troops, Camulogene.

Just think how nice you could make even more modern sculpts look, if those re-mastering rumours are to be believed :)

Must admit they are amongst my favourite PP figures:

What colours are you using for WW1 British ? As my main subject matter is WW2. But I must get some WW1 troops done. I very bought some of Martin last year.

My BEF paint colours are:

Tunic, trousers, cap, puttees - 3:1 mix of Vallejo 114 Green Brown and 119 Green Ochre
Webbing - Vallejo 120 Buff
Officer's tunic and cap - Vallejo 114 Green Brown
Officer's trousers - as above or 120 Buff
Leather items - 1:1 mix of Vallejo 147 Leather Brown and 139 Mahogany sand
Shoes - Vallejo 150 German Camo Black Brown
Scabbard - Vallejo 138 Saddle Brown
Trench tool handle - Vallejo 124 Cork Brown
Lee Enfield - Wood - Vallejo 139 Mahogany Sand
                   Metal - Vallejo 175 Gunmetal

Took me a while to get this right, and I see in my notebook that anearlier attempt to get the colours right (to my eyes anyway) has been crossed out.

Thanks for posting, Andy - it's really useful to see what colours people use to get the lovely results they post here.

You are a glutton for punishment on all those different browns: my Late War Brits use the same brown for shoes, leather, entrenching tool, bayonet handle and rifle :)

The bamboo lances really sets those lancers off - the benefits of empire?

Simon the colours used for the BEF should be moved to the SB threads.

Excellent information like this should not be lost in all the chatter.
