I like what seems to be the general RFCM approach of using visually-attractive counters of some form or another, and avoiding bits of paper as far as possible.

So for me it's casualty removal / special casualty bases, please.

I'm guessing that this might also be the answer that was hidden in the question?

No casualty removal. Prefer caualty markers to show status of unit.

I prefer putting down casualty marker figures. I do also use a die in a small square attached to a command base but this can get a bit fiddly for big war gamer hands.

I prefer casualties to be figure bases left on the field where they fall. Not to be removed until end of game ideally. Just like reality. I know that we remove them in ma y cases due to morale tests being taken etc and I accept this as a compromise for the sake of ease of game play and not having to have as many dead as you do alive, but in an ideal world I would prefer to see dead left where they fall.

For big games - ranks and flanks type games (Hail Caesar for me) I prefer a few markers and then full base/unit removal. I was never into the single fig removal but too many markers on the table gets confusing as well. So a couple or a single die is ok.

I am getting into RFCM games though and find the need for a decent amount of 'markers' and dead is a bit of a pain. I understand the requirement but half the time I just use counters to mark dead bases etc vs. having separate ones.

Taking the models off works best.
If some are based in multiplies I put a small cup on the base to be used with a 7mm D6 which can be reduced as the base receives casualties.

I'm a casualty marker man myself. My rationale - I've spent a lot of time and effort making my figures look good, I want them on the table.

So I use a casualty figure on a Warbases casualty marker. Only problem is I am now considering redoing all my casualty markers; I've seen that you can customise the casualty markers... Royalists could have "for the king", Parliamentarians and Covenantors would have something appropriate for their causes.

Please don't say that that would be a good idea, as I'd need about 70 markers. Which would work out pricey.

Alas, I have already paid into the Peter Pig pension pot. The casualty figures are already bought, painted and based - it's the basing I'm considering changing.

Covenanters slogan isn't a problem (covenant for religion king and kingdom), it's the Royalist and Parliamentarian slogans giving me a headache (or the flu jab that I've just had). That's even before I start ruminating about suitable font

I think it would be a shame to risk damage to all those based and painted figures.

Much simpler to buy a new batch and base those according to your new system.

There are a few good and historical ones around: "No King, No Popery", "No Bishops, No Popery", "God and the Right", "King, Country and Parliament' come immediately to mind from my time in the pike block. I think period publications at times have some great slogans etc.

I've taken the plunge.
I've plumped for the following:
"Pro Deo Rege et Patria"
"for God and Parliament" and
"Couenant for Religion King and Kingdomes".

Sadly the jury is out on whether the Scots markers can 'fit' all that in. As I haven't heard from them, I take it as promising news.

Went for Chapbook italic font which is suitably imperfect C17 script like.

On the plus side I can rebase my casualties with the 'correct' flock this time, with added muddy bits. Something I overlooked first time.
