Counting the dead

Just want to check how you calculate the numbers dead when calculating victory criteria. It says bases off table less wounded in table, but reinforcement process confuses this otherwise simple process?

I can see that any "lost" due to shooting or melee, less any still wounded in table makes sense, but given the reinforcement process...

Does the defender also count the "losses" removed from the table during games setup? ( with the value potentially offset by the points allocated due to difference in aggression level)?

As a reinforcement group arriving on table is by definition not off table so will greatly reduce "dead", even if some came from original off table and some off table due to shooting/fights.

Just trying to work out a simple way of keeping track of status of off table bases as it also affects the status of the reinforcement group, and potential the dead count!

Thanks

Hello Graham

The system is specifically designed so that players do not have to keep track of losses during the game.

Any base off table due to being killed is a dead base.
Deduct the number of wounded that are on the table.
This is the number of dead.

I suggest you make a little tray off table. Possibly a box lid or even plate?
The first few dead bases are added to the reinforcement unit unless a player wishes already of table base to be used for the reinforcement unit and thus get that unit on quicker. If the reinforcement unit awaits for dead to fill the unit then that unit might be very late to the game albeit the number of daed are reduced. This would allow maybe 4 bases killed not to be counted as killed.
Apart from that each time a base is killed put it in the tray. These are the only bases that count as dead.
1. Count the  bases in the dead tray up at the game end.
2. Deduct any on table wounded bases.
3. This is the number of dead.

Notes
Amy dead brought back to life are taken from this dead tray.
Only count bases in the dead tray.

Hope that is all good.

Ok so it's just dead off table from shooting and fights. (Less wounded still on table)

If they find their way back on table due to recovery or reinforcement then not dead!

If lost by defender  in setup, also not counted!

Think I can work with that!I
