Having played many generations of the PBI rules I just wanted to check some of the things in the the latest set that have played differently in the past.

A) Partial terrain, in the previous version partial gave cover to the square behind if not occupied by the shooter, This is not mentioned in the new version, does partial cover in the line of fire give any cover beyond or is it only if the target is in such cover?

B) is it safe to assume that assault rifles can only claim the crowded bonus when in proximity ( when it fires like smg), but can't at longer ranges when it fires like rifles?

Hello Graham

A.  Partial cover saves do state "if in" partial cover. No allowance for beyond etc.

B. Yes, assault rifle counts as SMG at proximity.

Probably best to imagine the assault rifle bases as armed with two weapons.

They have an SMG and a rifle. At proximity range the base will use their SMGs.  Beyond proximity range they will put away their SMGs and get out their rifles. assault rifles only have a range of 4.

Hope that is all good.
