In TCR what might the companies be extracting from the planets?

Surely, it must be Dilithium crystals?

#5
or any combination on a value/points (roll for quality of resourse) scale.

First thoughts:

The planet has 3 precious minerals on it. Let's call these Spice, Dylithium and Kryptonite.

The "invaders" rate these as 3, 6 and 9 points depending on how important they are to their race. The first time a source is located the finder rolls 1d6:

1   The source is so impure as to be worthless
2   The source is very impure but usable with work done on it. -2 from the value.
3   The source is impure but usable with work done on it. -1 from the value.
4,5   The source is as expected. 3, 6 or 9 points as rated.
6   The source is exceptionally pure. +1 to its value.

Sorry Martin, it's a "no" if you mean me, Derek from Cambridge. I'm not into any form of SF (as I believe aficionados refer to it as) gaming. Nevertheless I still see it as valid to throw my 2p worth into RFCM rule ideas. Sticking to their basic idea, high, medium and low value objectives but tweaking to make it different - ruleset specific. My thoughts on minerals were on these lines, Instead of 3 different minerals it could be sizes of deposit of the one, sought after, mineral. The fundamental idea remains the same. The initial values and the pluses and minuses are not carved in stone but after dice rolls on each of the three "targets" it's possible their rankings have changed. This adheres to the RFCM basic idea of high, medium and low but has the "will this change" twist?

Your input is still appreciated Derek.

Mcguffinium. A highly prized mineral that everyone wants more of but no-one really knows what it's used for. It is extremely rare but can be found on any planet in a conflict zone.

What colour is it?
Consistency?
Packaging?
