I have marked this as PE so that it is clear the new edition is being discussed.

Truck movement
For interest I have adopted a multiple square potential move.
Then I simplified it.

Here it is.
Always need a successful roll to exit a square. The square entered is irrelevant.
2,3,4,5,6 to exit non templated square (includes road in direction of travel)
3,4,5,6 to exit a templated square.
If the roll fails then bases can de bus and stay in that square.
If the player chooses not to roll then the bases can debus and move into a face square.

Notice that debussing bases do not get any shooting etc. this is because it would give them the  equivalent of a double move.

As with all gambles it will restrict the cautious and enable the bold.  This reflects warfare command.

So...

1. Transport chooses to stay in the square, troops jump out and can move.

2. Transport tries to leave but fails, troops can jump out but not move.

I have changed your message a bit Sean

1. Transport chooses to stay in the square, troops jump out and can move 1 square.

2. Transport tries to leave but fails, troops can jump out but not move.
No shooting in either case too.

Roger that (I am getting character).

It would be nice to do a wild geese scenario with AK when it is done.

And Raid on Entebbe?

The Dogs of War could also be a good one, although Martin would need to sculpt Christopher Walken's automatic grenade launcher, of course.

Simon

They would make good participation games.
