Lovely looking game.

Did you use the new pinning?

I'm still worried about the victory points for grabbing land. Not worried enough to spoil the game...perhaps mildly concerned is a better way to put it.

My last game saw both players running for the opposite table edge. As the defender, seeing the attacker on my base edge didn't cause me to want to attack them and throw them back...I just ran for his edge and sat there to equalize the VPs. We still enjoyed the game which of course is the main objective. But just sitting on my opponents baseline rather than trying to move him off mine felt slightly counter intuitive.

It's just my thoughts. I think this version of AK is now my favourite and we have played it quite a bit.

But if someone can ease my mind on this one issue, I'll sleep better tonight 🤗😁🤣

Game later with Kev. I think he is developing some kind of master stroke plan.  I've not won a game yet. I think tonight's the night!

You may be right Sean.
Scenery held is worth about 1/3 or 1/4 of the victory points.
If my opponent wished to get to my base edge then fine.
He will lose 2 points for each scenery held interruption I make.
I would amass my units to break bits of his off. I can take scenery later.

The main reason for my defeat is that i lost a complete unit.

I didn't realise that it's -2 for each interrupted scenery piece.

I'll bear that in mind for later.

You can sleep better tonight now, Sean  :D

Just to clarify.
The total claimed for a column is reduced by 2 if any scenery square is held by the opponent.
e.g A claim of 5 is reduced to 3 if any sqaure between the sqaure 5 and his own base edge has an occupied scenery square.
