Hi all!

I would like to show you my last creation for my spanish civil war table.

Here in Spain, in the region of "Castilla-La Mancha", it is very typical to find windmills like these ones:

So I decided to create my own windmill and here is the result, what do you think?   ------> Video

It looks as though one needs a WhatsApp account and to be logged in to see this?

Unable to see it I'm afraid. But I like the idea of one of those windmills on my table!

Ups! My bad!

I think it is fixed now.

Thank you!

I see why you need a video rather than jist a picture now! Great stuff!

Lovely stuff, and a beautiful (and animated) model! Kudos to you. These windmill designs are not confined to just the Iberian peninsula and were used pretty much all over Europe. The post mill replaced them where timber was more plentiful. The drum tower is not cylindrical but has a slight taper for stability. They can also be built considerably taller than their timber cousins. This improves efficiency and allows for longer sails increasing wind catching area.
An important feature to note is the entire roof section rotates into the wind and can be manually set by the tail bar which extends to ground level outside.
A period detail For the medieval period 'proper' sail cloth jib sails were used on simpler spar arrangements. There are still a few in use today where the wind is a little more fickle.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windmill_sail

I'm planning one of these for my WOTR Jersey campaign with a scribed jersey stone tower so your build is both inspirational and timely

Well done!
