Spent today in the workshop.
It has been a month since the last new mould.

New skirt shields for the existing hoplite packs.
Four new AK characters. This gives a total of 8, which will be it for now.

Scarf face (wears a head scarf)
Ringo (dresses as a cowboy)
Warlock (big beard smooth head)
Monster (big tusk on his head)

I will get pictures to Simon this week.
Now working on a couple of packs of Nubians.

Nice work, Martin - I'm amazed you've found the time, with everything else going on!

A suggestion for the bodyguards: I realise there will be two of the same sculpts in each character pack. However, would it be an idea to have at least two packs with compatible bodyguard dress, so folk could mix and match bodyguards between them if they buy several packs? That may even help drive more sales...?

Simon, Good suggestion. How a pack or two of the body guards?

Best wishes, Martin from Grimsby

We can always make up a special pack of the bodyguard figure. The problem is that there would only be one pose. Offering bodyguard as a separate pack would confuse many people and create a lot of extra work for us.

That's why I was thinking that a degree of interchangeability between the bodyguards of the first 4 new leaders and the second batch might be a cunning plan  :)

That is a good idea Simon, but experience shows that it is far too complicated for some folk. Those particular folk burn up a lot of time and make the idea unworkable.
This is a shame for the majority of course.

As an e.g.  a recent customer sent back his order because  he thought they were 28mm but the figures he got from us were 15mm. Outraged.

Martin,

What I simply meant was, when sculpting the bodyguards for the new leaders, put them in the same attire as those from the existing packs.

So I buy 2 leader packs. Each has 2 bodyguards in the same pose. The bodyguards in the 2 different packs are different, but compatible. So I can swap them and thus get two bodyguards in different poses for each of my two leaders. That leads to one happy Simon (I like variety in my figure poses) and no more work for Martin or the denizens of PP HQ.

A good idea.
What I have opted to do is make the bodyguards in near identical kit to their leader.
This obviously makes them very specific to their leader but that is my chosen direction. You will have a lot of twins.

Thanks for explaining, Martin.

There are also a fair number of head swaps that also provided variety. There is also the case that not all bodyguards are black. Some could be white mercenaries providing even more head swap variety.
