27th July is the scenery day here at PPHQ.

Although this is at a planning stage only  I would appreciate if folk stated any interest they have.

The day will allow us to make templates (12 x 6 inch) for games using tan/green in any combination.

Partakers should state how many templates they would like to make on the day.

This will allow me to see if the day is a good idea or not.

Initial planning

1. Each attendee will state how many templates they intend to make.  eg. Frank (12)
2. The group of attendees will agree colours etc.
3. Attendees will pay up front for the number of templates they want (Sean will order them from Warbases).
4. Folk will supply their own tufts.
5. The total cost will be divided by the number f templates nad then multiplied by how many each person e wants.  e.g. Total bill = £25  . Divide by 30 templates= 83p per template.

This will be a good enterprise. As stated previously I'm away in Lyme Regis on holiday.

Dianne at Warbases is happy to provide the discount if we decide to go that route. If I can't attend, I'll still make my own templates for AK and follow the recipe we come up with!

Yes, creating the recipe is part of the mission.

Sean,

You can actually see Weymouth from Lyme - it's just a nice little drive round the coast.

Or you could cut off the wiggly bits and simply swim across in a straight line?  :D

Sean,

At the risk of sticking my oar in I feel sure that, for an order of the magnitude that we're going to generate, those nice folk at Warbases would be happy to cut some custom bases for us.

As a minimum for variety, could I suggest something like the following three:

Shape A is what I was trying to explain by a "fat 8": two 6" diameter circles with a 3" arc joining them top and bottom: I'd suggest that these could be handy for woods, swamps, rough ground and the like.

Shape B is handy for built-up areas: the rounded corners look nicer than square ones.

Shape C could well be the proportions of the existing Warbases' "pill" bases, but just to be sure! These are good for hills and gullies.

I like the look of those template shapes, especially the fat 8.

I may have to trademark that Fat 8TM term?  ;D
