Veteran Germans attacking raw  BEF British.
The Germans had 3 "muscular" platoons and a pair of raw tigers.

The BEF had 4 foot platoons, a mortar platoon and 3 Matilda mark 1s.

Quite a lot of woods and buildings on the table.

For most of the game the Germans had a terrible time. Running into the front edges of the British defence both Germans platoons became morale exposed. They both failed and lost bases.
After this, the two platoons started to fall apart.

Then their was a pause as the Germans re grouped, but the clock went down too fast for them.
The German Tigers rolled low and did badly. They did chase off the British MG tanks.
Near the game end the Germans sprinted across the table to take an objective.

A small win to the raw British. It could have been a big win of the Final German sprint had not taken place.

The veterans got a bit slaughtered by the raws.

No big conclusion from the game.
Maybe raw find it easier to defend than attack, as not many AP are enough to stand and shoot.

Note: The raw were using the 340 point option. This can replace the non conformist I think?

Colonel Kilgore

Two interesting points from this game:

1) this sounds like Early War British playing Mid or Late War Germans - and the Early War force seemingly held up well
2) it's only the end of April where I am, so you chaps have just regained a month's play-testing time :)

Oh dear. That calendar! My mistake.
I think the raw did well, but the veterans did very badly indeed until the end. The veteran platoons were very expensive so they could only afford 3 platoons of 10 and two raw tigers.

The British Matilda 1 combine the MMG function and good armour at 7. It costs more but keeps them safer.

On Thursday we are trying raw Brits again versus veteran Italians I believe (Ben's).
