I really enjoyed reading this.it is a history of Airfix boxed battle sets. Some i have had and some i never knew existed!!

Wow - nor me!

I would have liked the Foreign Legion fort. And, more recently, I was totally unaware of the short-lived Medieval jousting set just a few years ago.

Many, many, many moons ago I had the Foreign Legion fort, the Robin Hood castle and the Roman mile castle.

Do you remember the Terry Wise articles in the Airfix magazine. He made a truly massive castle and Roma fort too?

Great article, loved the old Airfix kits as a kid. Still have the FL Fort, Roman fort and the Robin Hood Fort my son and I still use them in games.
