With my 1:100th scale 1930s racers collection already complete and a 180x120cm racing circuit matt printed, at some point I started thinking of complementing it all with some appropriate scenery pieces - and a set of highstands with public seemed a feasible option, provided I could find suitable figures...

I happened to find such figures at the online shop of an Aliexpress vendor. They are injected plastic made (PVC, probably) and come in a quite basic prepaint coat. As for the stands themselves, I made them with 5mm thick foamcard, expanded styrene and a wooden planking preprinted adhesive paper sheet.

As said, figures' factory paint job was quite basic and unfit (too bright colours), so I repainted all their skins as well as some dresses and hairs, to later applying them some dark washing. Afterwards, I just highlighted skins again and nothing else.

In the photos below you can see how I covered all rear walls with some vintage posters, most of them dating back to 1936. Printed on adhesive paper using my home printer, some of these posters are commercial advertising, others are related to car racing and other sports, a couple are announcing movie premières, and, naturally, some others are electoral propaganda.

I'm planning to make some pit boxes next.

Nice you could also track down some Subbuteo stands and supporters although for football I'm sure they would work as a main stand.

They look great.
Do like the posters.
Now all you need is a banked circuit ?

Posters look great, although an unusual trip for the girl guides, especially in the 50s, but Stirling Moss was a big draw back then.

I tried and chose posters dating back to pre-SCW 1936 roughly - this is certainly true for political and sports ones; but I wasn't that picky for commercial and cinema advertisements, admittedly. That poster from Damm beer, for instance, dates back probably from the 1950s or even 1960s - however, it showed the 'right look' to my eyes and I had enough with it!

A banked circuit?  :-[ For making the car minis to compete against gravity, besides of among themselves?  :o
