Preorder is ordered. Mostly to finish off a long stalled project. With a couple of days off this week I vowed to paint some bits to make way on the lead pile for the incoming figures. I've been quite productive with finishing a Hessian unit for the AWI that has taken me about 4 months to finish. I've also based up my NVA for MCB as well as painted the hooches and built my bamboo bases which juse need flocking.

Surprised that the RCFM boys attending the show have not set a rendezvous, you know coffee at the PP stand, or lunch on the PP game table or afternoon tea and biscuits with Martin!!?.

I hope to take in the show and then rest my weary feet at the PP table, maybe rolling some dice if I have the energy. From past experience the PP stand is a gathering point for the RFCM team throughout the day so I hope to catch up with the usual suspects at some point.

It's hard work, sitting painting figures whilst looking after animals.
Last couple of weeks
Finished 4 platoons , 4 Italian cmd stands and 2 armoured cars for SCW plus my late war British army for WW1 and a couple of German WW2 tanks
Nothing left to paint now.

Hope everyone had a good salute show. I thought it was a good show in terms attendance and things on show.  Some very nice looking games.  I did see lots of grid/hex games this year. A big change from previous years.  The collector figure was a Russian with revolution flag. there were also some beer mats (for basing??)and a fantasy wild west figure in the goody bag.   car parking was strange in that you can only buy a 24HR   £20 tickets. There were no smaller increments available.  This is bad news if you want to pop in for a couple of hours. 
On a personal note the VIETNAM game went down well with those who played.  Thanks to Rob, Mike and Miles for moving the game along throughout the day.

Crazy busy on the DLR. Not helped by the Crossrail work. Was much better last year (travelwise) as it didn't clash with the marathon.

Seemed busier this year than the last couple of years, or was that just me?
Enjoyable show. Thanks to all who helped make it what it was.

Yes the DLR was busy. It is always the same day as marathon registration (last few years anyway) and all getting off at the stop prior to Custom house made it a bit of a bottleneck.

All went smoothly though and I agree that the show was a good one. Always great to catch up with the RFCM team and I was able to pick up a few extra bits missed from the preorder. Some good games on show but also some games that were typical club night style games.

Cost of getting there and getting in came to around £50 which is a bit steep, probably twice the cost of other shows where I drive rather than take the train. I'm just about willing to spend that much but not much more. Its a day out for several club members and the jolly japes of half a dozen of us making the trip make it worthwhile.
