New forum format

Given the nature of the comments concerning the new forum format, I really think they should be placed here and not in general discussion. There seem to be a huge number of grumbles and very little that could genuinely be described as discussion.

Incidentally, i am finding the amount of information on this page very hard on my old eyes. The previous layout from yesterday seemed simple and uncluttered.
