Hello,
I would like some pack horses to represent crew served weapons and RPG's in an AK47 Republic horsed cavalry unit. As far as I can see I have two choices; from the German range pack no: 524 Pack Horses and from the Russian range pack no: 614 Scout Pack Horses. The German horses look more dynamic.

What are the contents of each pack?

Are there any other packs I should consider?

Thank you and best wishes,

Hello Martin

The Russian ones are newer sculpts.
I will ask Mike what is in what pack as I cannot remember at all.
There are mules in the 14th army too.

I thought there were some in the western range but apparently not.
I might adda a pack though as they would fit in well with that range.

What sort of loads were you looking for and how many horses???

martin :)

There are transport mules in the Sudan range as well

Don't forget those Western/Mex Rev gun runners too... they need ammo and crates of rifles. The mention of mules always puts me in mind of Huston/Bogart's 'Treasure of the Sierra Madre' (1948)

There are mules in the ACW range too.

Thank you for the replies.
My thoughts are: the cast on loads don't matter too much as I'll use one pack horse with a ridden horse on a base to show it's a heavy weapon or RPG base, I'll use coloured tufts on the matching deployed bases red for RPG, blue for HMG, yellow for mortar etc.
Six or so will probably suffice.

The German pack horses seem to better match the AK47 cavalry horse poses.

Best wishes,
