D-Day Beach Landing at Weymouth

Asda next Tuesday is the venue for a delayed (D+7) Beach Landing PBI game.
Not quite on the scale of the Gold Beach game that Colin, Miles and I put on a couple(?) of years back, but a good time of the year to remember that great feat of arms.

Spent some of this week visiting sites around us,

• living history camp at Site fortifié Hillman mainly British but some US
• commemoration at the Rose Garden at the Memorial in Caen
• living history camp at Sainte-Mère-Église with lots of kit and reenactors, with para drops from C47's
• commemoration at the Ferry port the memorial for the navy and marines on the ships and barges in Ouistreham
• living history camp at the Merville Battery mainly British but some German artillery as well
