Thanks Simon, have read radars blog previously, thought it was very good. I just wanted to work out the number of figures/types Ben would need. His birthday is in Sept, so was planning to order for a Colours pick up, then he can work on it over the winter. He is away for Colours digging ditches in Yorkshire - he was not impressed when his field trip was announced.

Simon,

I came second!  In retrospect, I would sacrifice some guns and lower the quality of some of my infantry to allow for a couple more conscript Foote regiments to bulk out the Army.

Second's good, Richard - better than coming last  ;D

I've managed to largely resist RoF to date (I don't need another project right now...), but have played both WRG and DBR - your force did sound like it was well endowed with guns!

Nice figure, Julian!

Simon,

Have you never plkayed Regiment of Foote? One game and you're hooked!

Colonel Kilgore

I think the first time I probably met you was when you were helping out on the PP stand at a show, and even then you were trying to tempt me over to the dark side, Sean  :D

Just reading back through this prompted by the Highlander query, can anyone answer the Scottish Lancer question please?

Leman (Andy)

If you look at the Scots Covenanter list (page 28) you will see that they can field a maximum of 10 cavalry units. Up to 4 can be lancers and 1 - 3 must be pistolers. If you are going for the maximum then you must have at least 3 non-lancer chargers. Of course you do not need to field any lancers and you are obliged to field at least 1 pistoler. Let's say you have opted for 6 cavalry. You have decided to field 2 lancer and 2 pistoler units. then according to the list your final 2 units must be non-lancer chargers. Hope this clears it up Sean.

Andy is right. Sorry Sean I missed the original question :-[
Scots lancers are identical to chargers in every way. The notes are included for players to include the figures in their armies.  Nice and simple.

martin :)

Understood, thank you.
