Todays mould = dismounted cossacks.
3 packs.
Kneeling firing, advancing and command.
Should be out at the end of the week (?)

They are wearing traditional Cossack clothing of long tunic, carbine  with furry hat.
Next I am working on mounted cossacks in the same traditional garb.

What time period would these cover? Basically, how distinct are the rifles given that I see the clothes being of a wider time-span!

Hooray!,
I imagine they'd cover anywhere from the late C19 to WWII period... if the tunic has the traditional breast pocket cartridge pouches, a head swap with a longer furred Iranian cap would also do for Turkmen and with a Mongol furred cap they'd stand in for Asian and Manchurian troops from the RCW./WWii.. just sayin'... 8)

I will get photos done soon.

They are armed with the short m-nagant carbine. This  will be Ok for WW1 and WW2.
I am planning  MMG, gun crew and infantry with full rifle  packs.
The Tchanka crew will be re done too.
Plus a pack of dead.
Probably about a 10 pack range.

A very nice little project - I look forward to seeing these!

An additional fuller and shaggier papakha head swap option (almost like a bearskin busby) would greatly extend the possibilities of these figures to almost any Cossack or ethnic host on the Russian fringes.
I could really have done with these figures for my Siberian Rifles. It would have saved me macgyvering russians in greatcoats 16/96 and hours of fiddly tweaking greenstuff!...

Those are great Neil.Unique!
I will certainly look at Cossacks head packs once the set of packs is done.

I look forward to seeing the new sculpts, Martin.
One of the reasons my RCW in Central Asia project stalled was the lack of variety for the forces. Since so many were derived from similar stock they invariably ended up a little too familiar...
A shaggier hat variant would also stand in well for the Turkmen telpek

Something I am also struggling with in my TransCaspian forces...

The new cossack bodies and some potential head swaps would greatly extend the reach of the figure range into the late 1800s Russian expansion into C Asia right through to the late 1940s...
