Thanks to Entoyment and all who took part

Thanks to Martin for organising, and those who took part both today and in previous play testing.

The idea of the troopship convoy helped tie the three tables' games together very nicely.

Good day but...............
The potato dice seemed an unnecessary diversion. Their use seems to have different interpretations and slowed the game down. The transports were too easy to sink.
An enjoyable day though nonetheless.

I actually enjoyed the potato dice. The scenario had removed some of the other more complicated bits of the standard rules, so I didn't mind them and they were a bit of fun. Even  if John and I often forgot to use ours...

I do think there's something about the survivability and/or points for the transports. Only one made it to the end of table 3 on game 2, and none, I think on game 1?

Being gamey, it would have been much better to have held the transports on tables 1 or 2 if the Union was doing well there (and get the points for them) than to risk further attrition and loss (with zero points) on a subsequent table. Fortunately the Union played to the spirit of the game and pushed on both morning and afternoon - albeit to near-certain doom!

Excellent.
This will all help if we ever play it again.

The transports played almost no part in the victory and defeat.
that will need changing.

I will start another topic about the outcomes.
