13th August, went the day well

Thank you to all who game along a played.

We had 8 gamers and 6 games

I think the Royalist won , Charles I rides again.

Sean won the 'longest distance travelled' from the wet and windy north England, no prize but our gratitude for travelling so far to throw some die.

My camera man got shot off his horse first charge so I hope some else managed to take a few.

And thanks to Entoyment  for looking after us as usual

Thanks to Martin for the 10 pints of beer, 2 curries and a packet of crisps last night.

Well done Stewart for arranging. A grand day out. Met the usual friendly faces, but always good to meet new ones in Richard and Eric. I picked up the Nick Lipscombe book on ECW maps, which was a bit late to save me having suffered 3 defeats. Didn't even help me find my way home as due to a police incident on the A34 south of Oxford, I walked through the door 20 minutes ago 

I think it's really important to support these days where life allows. Having been grumpy about petrol prices earlier this year, today has made me realise there are worse things at sea and that it's far better to participate and share these days with each other than to moan about things out of our control.

So onwards and upwards to the next one!

Yes a great day, even though I lost twice (the second time badly thanks to Stewart). Sorry to hear about your A34 incident Sean, but from my experience it is not unusual. Next it's Miles PBI bash on Tuesday. Could be Russians or Yanks.

Thank you to Stewart and all for an excellent day of ECW games. I finally got the hang of my Late War Parliament army! Two excellent games with Derek and Sean who were tough opponent as always.
Martin patiently sorted out our rules questions.
One of the best days of the year.

Making me more envious that I wasn't there. But at the same time if I had gone and a band I ve been waiting to see for 38 years wouldn't have been archived either !
It's funny that both the ACW and ECW both generate a mutual love of the game ?
So I am glad the day went well. Hopefully next time I can be there.
Must start painting my figures up soon.
