Toying with some designs on bases for the new REVELL hueys we have in stock. Warbases are usually jolly helpful.

Sean Clark

Glad to hear you have sourced some Hueys Martin! I'm using upturned plastic wine glassses that were in vogue back in the days of Brixcon.

In the past, I've managed to get hold of some telescopic "magnetic pick-up tools" [Top Gun Ace in the US used to sell them with Perspex bases, but I think he's stopped trading]. Screwfix has some at £3.99:

while I got some more that seem identical in a "pound shop" in Japan. You can get something that looks very similar from Hong Kong on eBay for the grand total of £1.26 including postage:

You just need to stick a small high-strength magnet to the underside of the aircraft to fix to. If you unscrew the pocket clip at the other end and insert a wide washer there instead, you could stick the it onto a base (which would need a recess / hole in the middle to lift the screw head clear of the tabletop).

I will look at those. They might be too much to be included in the kit price.

Colonel Kilgore

Martin,
Do you necessarily need to include bases with the Hueys? It would of course be nice to have your crew figures included as a matter of course, but many folk may already have their own preferred basing system for aircraft.
How about offering the bases separately, so those that want to could buy them fom you, without overcooking the basic price for those that don't?

Thanks i will put it to the senate!

Colonel Kilgore

Stewart,

Looking good – the casualty figures are a particularly nice touch.

Did you have to "sacrifice" a model Huey to make this, or did you find a crashed Huey model somewhere?

Simon

Bought a model from Peter Pig, made it, painted it, broke it. Simples

Colonel Kilgore

Isn't that bordering on sacrilege?

And you have confessed to the deed on this forum...

Sean Clark

A worthy sacrifice. I love the downed pilot defending the crash site.

Waiting for the casivac for his crew mates
