Best RFCM game for conventions

So after a fun convention here last weekend I had a thought - which is the best of the RFCM sets to play in a convention style participation game environment, and why?

Many rules sets are great for 2 player games (or demo games for potential players) but don't really work for a 4 plus even up to 8 player game which must complete in a limited time frame (4 hour max - realistically 3 hours or so). This is while keeping all the players engaged, when they have not read the rules and have limited experience with the period.

Just wondered what others with more experience of this thought about this.

A large Civil war battles or Sq bashing would cater to 3 per side with a few units each and each side would have to play as a team.
Normal PBI is fine for 2 per side, although I have run a large PBI beach assault  (6x4) with 3 per side and plan to run it again at Fisticuffs this year.

Hammerin iron goes down well. Too many people make any game suffer, as players  control a less significant part of the game and thus their contribution makes less difference.

Yeah I have found that. Giving people specific local objectives tends to work and allows them something to focus upon.

As a GM/runner of the game you tend to have to 'hurry along' at least one of the players as well. Analysis paralysis strikes (or some people just play slow) in any game but in a convention game you have to keep it moving so others don't get a bad experience. Often that's a balancing line but it makes such games a challenge.

I've found all of the RFCM games are suited to 2 per side. I have played bigger Civil War battles and Squarebashing games with 3 per side.

2 per side is probably my favorite way to play. More sociable!
