Had a go at doing hills differently.

Did these with the textures foam from Hobbycraft just cut to size. 1 Sheet makes 1 hill for £1.

They are have enough height to give the impression of a hill but not to look like a small mountain in scale, Give a nice base for figures to sit on without sliding and are flexible in their own right. Also no chance of causing damage to anything else in the box they will live in.

I did some first with untextured random foam I had around first. They looked suitably Psychedelic. Then tried to figure out how to stretch the textured stuff over it without it curling up. Then thought why don't I just use the textured stuff in the first place. Sticks well with Rubber solution glue and retains its "bendyness". Got some sand coloured sheets as well so may do some sand-dunes!.

Going to use the dark brown as rough terrain templates anyway so makes sense to me to have random patches of the same dark brown on rough hills.

They look great Derek. Im thinking of using these for terrain templates too.

The brown ones could have a little bit of flock added for woodland templates.

Green, yellow and brown make excellent fields.

They could also be used for rough terrain areas with some lichen and/or stones scattered in them.

At £1 a piece, I think they are not only a cheap option but a practical one too.

I bet they'll fit with Martins new cloths for C&K too 👍

If they are 10 x6 then it is a win.
Derek might be playing at Soton club next Saturday too??

That's the intent Martin. Finished the painting of the last Barbarian army this afternoon. Wet from a wash right now then just basing to be done. Think I have enough for 2 x 300 point armies now lol.  Will bring the hills along.

Those sheets from hobby-craft are pre flocked (but still take glue) and measure 11.5 x almost 9 (A4).
