Pieces of Eight in Stoke

The Stoke club opened its doors for the first time since March last year on Friday night.

I took Pieces of Eight down and we played a fun game as I took 3 new players through their first game.

As is usual I got a couple of rules wrong. I handicapped the Pirates by forgetting how they deployed their ships. But it was good fun and all players are looking forward to the next game.

Through tricks and the scenario generator, the Merchant fleet ended up with 3 warships and 3 merchants ships against 4 small warships on the pirate side. The pirates did catch one of the small merchant warships and capture her, but the merchant player got his ships off table before the countdown was halfway around.

I'll bring my fleet down to Weymouth in case there's chance of a game or two.

Looking forward to seeing your ships in action Sean.  With not having played some of these games for so long it is easy to forget the little details and even which ruleset is being played.
