Here is my first shots of my group build, it's actually a choice between two. As I am doing 2 unique Desert pieces only. One is the HQ Objective which is next to an Oasis/watering hole. The other one is a Template piece. Oasis/watering hole.

That's great work as always Miles but, as this group build hasn't started yet, you'll just have to do it all again in August  ;D

#4
Miles, to qualify it has to be completed in August so just leave the final wash, drybrush or varnish until the start date.

Best wishes,

I will as Simon knows, it's washes as there are normally several layers of washes and dry brushes on my terrain pieces; as I have a few terrain pieces to do. To be honest the HQ one will take a bit of time as I am going to scratch build a Dorchester Command vehicle with a limited interior so I can have the doors open, making it a bit more believable as an HQ piece.

Miles,

Is there no end to your creativity? This sounds amazing!

If I deem I need a terrain piece I will basically try and build it, and possible variations of it ? I do get great satisfaction from building scenery pieces ?
John asked me for a Marsh and a field the other week ? When we played an North African scene, at the time I didn't have the proper pieces but since then I have endeavoured to make up for that shortfall.
I obtained some doormat material and have cut out some crop fields. I have 2 Wadi's laid down and started.

Doormats are a great source of quick fields. Whether the coir type or the ridged type there is so much you can do with tthem.
