Sorry to trouble folks but I'm painting up some Egyptian infantry I note these figures have a bag on their left side, what colour should this be? My Osprey books and 'Googling' don't show it. Great figures though.

Osprey books suggest all equipment was black. As nothing else specifically mentions the bag that's what I've gone with.

Thanks Nick, BTW what colour did you paint the stripes on your sergeants, this is assuming they are wearing a white uniform ? ....I'm also wondering about the Egyptian artillery should these be in blue uniforms as suggested by this website

https://www.ottoman-uniforms.com/1883-till-1914-army-of-egypt-mounted-troops-artillery-and-government-departments/

But I guess this depends on what particular date the army is trying to represent.

Given the "dirty" nature of artillery work would White Uniforms be practical ?  I would assume Blue would be much less likely to show soiling (from powder etc not gun crew having a bad morale test 😁).
Not that this is factual evidence, just an assumption on my part so sorry if it's not much help to you.

White for summer and blue for not summer. Officers often went blue all the time, as they had less to sweat about
