Pete and I did a test game of the final rules at Toyment.
Game lasted 2.5 hours.
I got the "needs 12 to exit" against Pete. This really held up his manoeuvre through the hedges and marsh.
My household infantry decided to be off table.
In addition my cavalry never turned up (shame on them).
The game ended in a draw because Pete's Lancastrians did not take enough zones. They wasted their time hacking through woods, marsh and hedge.

Obviously  thought the rules worked well. Simple, yet tactics and intellect was rewarded.

I was worried by the title of this post - I know the Wars of the Roses were bloody, but that conjured up all sorts of horrible images...  :o

Whereas I read it as Tastes and thought it was a typing error for taster - what a pure minded person.

Think i got it mixed up with the Roman "testicle" formation. :D

Colonel Kilgore

Easy mistake to make, Martin. Probably best to check it's right in the rules before they go to print?

Leman (Andy)

Don't you miss it eh? - Testicle of Youth!

Pete great to hear that your tactics and intellect was rewarded.

Martin's looking at an ancient set of rules in 15mm to compete with 'Infamy, Infamy'.

Playing at Toyment tomorrow ( Thursday). Might try cavalry again ???

Don't forget your codpiece, Martin, if you don't want to go the way of the Romans...

Leman (Andy)

Esure it is the Russian Black - renowned for frightening the horses and causing old ladies to drop their parcels.

Sean Clark

I think you all need to say 10 Hail Mary's for your impure thoughts 😁

I'm slightly worried though that intellect is required. But as a player who likes to throw caution to the wind and charge anything that moves, my tactics are somewhat 'industrial'

Great to hear we are close to the finish line. Wish I lived closer to pop in for a casual game of an evening.

..and if Martin is considering an Ancients rule set, I'm fairly sure it will be more up my Avenue than Infamy Infamy. But let's not start a flame war around that subject...its just my preference.
