In 2019 we have had two Viking days and a forthcoming   SCW day.

I propose a day in April and another in May.
What would  you like to play?
PBI, Western, Pirates, Bloody barons, Vietnam........

Leslie BT

Looks as though you need to get HI out, just for a refresher!!!

Sean Clark

Yesyesyes. Having missed all so far and missing the SCW day I am eager for a trip south.

My votes would be in order of preference:

1. Western
2. Vietnam

But also wonder if a 'playtest' group think/discussion on Bloody Barons might be interesting to do. As someone has had read through every version and hoping to playtest this week, I do find nothing beats being with you all in person to solidify my understanding. We did this year's ago for Squarebashing (2 separate days I seem to remember?)

Colonel Kilgore

I really do like your BB playtest day idea Sean.

Leslie BT

A BB test day will help iron out some problems and let Martin see how it's playing.

martin goddard

A BB day would be nice.
One problem is that i do not want people to go home upset because some problem has been found in the rules that caused them to lose their game(s).
we could certainly do  a day when the rules are almost there, which would be very useful i agree.
Although it is the holiday season; how about June 2019 for a BB "final licks"  or "ironing"  day???

Your thoughts?

I'm fairly sure people will accept that a playtest day is just that and not worry about winning or losing. The purpose being to help development of the rules. In fact using our usual morning game and afternoon game, they don't have to be strictly played in a competitive manner with discussion from both sides throughout on how mechanisms are working and how best to play through any given situation.

Is it my take anyway. If I got upset about losing I'd be very upset by now!😂

I quite fancy a bit of AWI, a good variety of colourful armies and interesting battlefields, perhaps some Samurai? I also enjoy the SB day at Battlefield Hobbies in June so perhaps a SB day later in the year so as to ensure no clash with the June event.

I agree with Martin about the venue, easy parking, friendly staff the only problem is the well stocked shop forcing you to depart with your hard earned cash.

Colonel Kilgore

I agree with both Sean and Chris.

I would be quite happy to have a plausible excuse for losing, other than poor generalship, and actually half the fun for me is seeing how the game mechanisms play out. So I personally would not mind having an "experimental" BB games day.

As for the Aladdin's Cave that is the Entoyment emporium, what a nice problem to have :)

SB can be done as there are plenty of armies within the locale.
I think the battlefield hobbies June SB day is 1914?

Martin, it is indeed; "Any army can be used, dated up to and including 1914, from any theatre":
