On the internet somewhere is  thing called "Duffers drift". It describes a  Brit versus Boer action. it has 3  narratives in order to illustrate various military points. Read it?

I read it some years ago and found it quite fascinating.

I was stumped about how to turn it into a game, given that the "reveal" at each iteration was really the whole point.

But educational none the less.

Agreed Simon I have looked at how to make it a game but is difficult.
