Thanks Simon and the gang.  Good day!   Good games, armies, scenery food and venue.  i will put together the photos from the iPad into a page on the PP website for us all to look at.

thanks again

Colonel Kilgore

Likewise thanks to all concerned:

- Mr Lurkio for organising it all and making the trophies
- his clubmates for providing all the terrain
- Ray and Sean for their patience with me as I was very rusty on the rules
- Martin for the special Square Bashing free figure we all received
- everyone else for joining in with some wonderful armies and playing in the very best of gaming spirits

I have some photos too, which I'll post up here in the coming days.

A very good day, still learning the rules and maybe one year might be able to field my own Army. But not for next year as mine would be a late army !
But anyway thanks for the day as i know how much work goes into putting these together, and when you think no one is coming !
So thank you once again.
Thank you to Martin for taking us up there as well.
A Very Enjoyable day.

Sean Clark

Thoroughly enjoyed my 2 games.

Simon I think we were both somewhat rusty. I think it must be the longest game I have ever played but a real nailbiter.

When we don't play some of these games for a while you can forget how good they are! It's really.motivated me to get painting again for the first time in months.

Leslie BT

Good to hear that you all had an enjoyable day out.

Sean whats the game day got you into painting?

Sean Clark

I'm not sure yet Les....almost certainly some Pirates...and maybe a super secret project.

Nice Square Bashing Day photo report on the PP website, Mr Pig!

Here's a brief overview of the British vs. Turk game.

First, an overview of the battle lines after the Turkish (attacker!) first move and a gas barrage laid down by Perfidious Albion. The 2 British right flank columns had to be left unprotected due to a pre-battle event roll, while much of their force is off-table thanks to rolling lots of sixes in the defenders' depletion phase:

A Biggles' eye view of the crossroads, with a severely-depleted battalion caught in a Turkish pincer around the open flank:

Looking along the British lines, highlighting the urgent need for some reinforcements:

The British left flank then stagnates after the Turkish cavalry get sent packing by an accurate artillery strike, as as neither the tank and supporting infantry or the Turkish machine guns facing them want to take the risk of advancing:

The thin green line grimly hanging on to the better end:

Congratulations to Ray for a convincing win with his lovely Turkish army.
