So what are the plans for land, islands, forts etch?

Are there any restrictions we need to know about at this point, I am thinking more from a modelling perspective, should I make an island that is just a green hill, one that has a little harbour, a sandy area for breaching ships, woods, town, castle etch?

Any restrictions on size or do we make individual hex's that can be combined?

Duncan initial ideas for buildings/scenery  etc are in the play test rules, land raid section.
Remember nothing is finalised yet.

Hello Duncan
I assume you are talking about the islands in the sea fights.
For what it is worth here is what i reckon.
The islands will have no habitation whatsoever. They are just uninhabited islands. No buildings etc. Unless you want put on a single hut?
No easter island statues.
The islands should really be sandy /scrubby rather than volcano like. You could model them as java type rocks as they just count for area, not  physicality.

I will write soem more...

Yes, I mean for sea battles.
So we cannot even have a small village? Fishing village? (Sad.😭)
By the way what is a Java type rock? Do you mean something like Krakatoa? Or at least the Anak bit?

The islands are intended to be  sandy outcrops of about 400m in length. Some might be little more than revealed sandbars. However , rocky sticky up things might look really good. Either vertical type or lump type. Good geological descriptors there?  The problem might be whether the islands should have attached shallows? At the moment islands and shallows are independent.
I look forward to seeing some great scenic pieces.
For better or worse I am waiting for the first skull or dinosaur shaped island. Maybe a moulding of a person's hand with some foliage on it to make it subtle.  More subtle designs might be "devil's backbone", "snake" or "teeth" islands.  Golgotha, i think not.
