Having become very disenchanted with Regimental Fire and Fury over the last 12 months (too much like hard work and less like fun) I decided to introduce some club members to CWB. I chose White Oak Road as an introductory game as relatively small and no cavalry or artillery, or even corps commanders. Took a little while for the WD40 to kick in, plus the players had never played before, but both enjoyed it enough to ask for the game to be left up to continue next week, and also asked for another game to include artillery at least, so that they could become familiar with the rules.

I have to say these are my favourite RFCM rules - but then the ACW is my favourite period. Must get a game in myself soon.

Now I'mm re-reading the rules I'm glad I opted to host this game. It might encourage me to get on with my longstanding railhead depot project and get the PP station and water tower up and running, thus making a lovely objective for those wiley Rebs.
