Battlescale 10mm range of buildings

Had an email today from Pendraken stating they have taken over the Battlescale 10mm range.   How do the buildings appear size wise for 15mm figs. Are they too small or about what we use anyway?

Some players like to use a smaller scale or bigger scale than the 15mm figures on the table.
I don't, but others do.

Its all about the footprint the buildings have. I find some 15mm just take up too much room.

I have seen games of 15mm that use 6mm buildings so that the building template looks like a whole village.

I find the RFCM 12 x 6 template gives plenty of room for game manoeuvre.
I do often move the buildings about in order to accommodate units.
I prefer the buildings to look in proportion to the figures, as that is the visual part of the hobby for me.
Some PP buildings such as the Normandy church do use most of the template. It does good, which is very important to me.

Each to his own of course.

I do as you do, Martin: buildings the same scale as the figures.

I do like the look of 1/144 aircraft (when "flying") with 15mm figures, as 1/100 planes look big when closer to the player (i.e. above the table) than the troops.

For skirmish games I'll use same scale. For larger games I go for 6mm or 10mm with my 15mm figures, for precisely the reason mentioned.

Take a look at Total Battle Miniatures - they do exactly this, having a "skirmish scale" where the buildings are the accurate size for the figure scale, and a "Big Battalions" scale where the buildings still look right, but have a much-reduced footprint to be more in keeping with the groundscales of mass-battle games. Very nice stuff, especially their complete town/village sets where you get a number of resin buildings and a flexible rubber template base for them to fit into.

In some circumstances the 10mm buildings look good with 15mm figures. It very much depends on the actual building and the size of the 15mm figure. My 15mm dutch WWII infantry look "wrong" with the Battlescale 10mm, but the Epic ACW look fine with the 10mm ACW buildings (they are of course a bit smaller).

I believe the epic figures have a scale of their own.i.e 13.5mm

The ACW definitely have, but Epic seems to be suffering from scale creep. The Pike and Shotte figures work well with several 15mm manufacturers including Peter Pig, so probably won't work as well with 10mm buildings. If you have any original Peter Pig ACW figures, they do work well with Epic. Also 10mm figures work very well with 6mm buildings. I often combine these in my Walter Schnaffs FPW games.
