I had the PPF in the 2nd game, as Wolfe Smith is one of my Generals !
Thank gawd you can bring back men to make up for your dead ones ?
Calling Zero on Communications and scoring low on the dice is a seemingly Heavens sent !
Martins "Special scenery" piece was a battle ground I had 15 dead markers in place and that's after clearing some !
2 very good games. This set of rules is shaping up very nicely. Simple to play and hopefully understand?
So many Army choices and many a different colour schemes can be done, without but country specific is great.
I can do a Berlin scheme mid 80's tanks with men in "urban camo" ? At long last ! Just need to find a Margret Thatcher type General figure ? Lol
I can do this because it hopefully looks nice without it being you can't do that ? I can and will because it looks like a British force but isn't it's a Colonial powers army or something!
Army (faction) of Zutmasia ?
Anyway.
Many thanks Martin. For a good day out. Good hospitality as per usual. Thank you.
Very instructive as well.
I think doing the 3 qualities in traffic light colours worked without detracting from what the bases were etc? bright but not intrusive! Green for Raw and on the left, also on the left yellow for Regular and on the right Red for `professional.
Gladly to say Martin looked and played his usual Gun ho self !
Many thanks
Miles

How many dead's ?

Glad you had good games, chaps, and that Martin is playing true to form.

It's a personal opinion but I hate the need to mark (permanently with paint, or temporarily with something like post-it notes showing out of a side of a base) a unit's quality. Given that there are only 3 qualities is it possible to just ignore such markings and rely on memory? Has this been tried or is it just too problematic? All comments welcome.

Thanks.

Derek,

I'm using Militia / Regular / Professional figures, as appropriate. But it can get confusing if you have more than one of each type!

I tend to go by the "dress".
Colours, uniform etc all good.
All fine by me.

Hi everyone,

I was mulling over the following for troop types:

Militia - only standing figures; poor training no real concept of cover and concealment;

Regulars - standing and kneeling figures; they have better, but an imperfect understanding of cover and concealment;

Professional - kneeling and prone figures; they get it!

Derek,

I don't mark my bases and have no problem recognizing what is what.

Yes. a good option.
I don't think gamers much enjoy painting prone figures though.
