Gauls v Romans

A clash of cultures.
Big Mike's imperial Romans. All armoured all on foot.  High quality. Standing on a ridge line in defence.
Ben's Gauls. All unarmoured. Levy and Veterans present.
A full width frontal assault by the Gauls.
Initially the assaults were all well rebuffed by the Romans.
Then with attrition, the Romans fell back on to their base edge zones.
The game ended like this.
A win to the Gauls due to taking the land.
Both sides lost a general.

I really should do some photos.
Mike did get a  few 1 scores for saves.

Well supported, quality close order fights achieved maximum D6 amounts.
Hits often numbered in the 8s.

Mike did well to create the central ridge for defence.
Ben had a lot of trouble getting his battle tactic markers to work.

The game looked very good in terms of figures and scenery.
The rules are easy enough for us not to have forgotten much.  Good.
