At the moment I want some scenery for AK.
I can wait another month.

If S&A returns then I want plenty. I owe him loyalty for the great stuff he has made previously.

If they are gone I will have to cobble up some of my own.
2mm MDF appears to be the depth of mounting board?
It would need one of those electric flock machines?
I might consider using the Scene again?

They look nice, but £20 for a hill is a bit steep.

Although it does confirm that thar's gold in them thar hills...  ;D

Thank you Martin. I couldn't quite fit in "rough" as well for a round three. It's been a long day :)

I think he may be surprised just how much work he comes back to when he does return.

I'm not sure he uses a static grass applicator. I do wonder whether he uses textured paint or glues sand on and then paints the templates.

Smiley Miley 66

I don't think he uses texture paint too much, as I normally buy plain ones off him then I paint textured paint onto his hills!

I think (?) he has  a good quality /tough base colour. I have sand, brown, green and tan templates. I have 90 templates from S+A. My Europe hills are all flocked with short static grass. My flat templates also have patches of grass too.  S+A marshes are also great, as the gloss paint looks really good.

For me, the big problem is that I like the S+A, don't prefer anything else, but am faced with a stock absence.

I prefer lemon drizzle cake, but may have to settle for victoria sponge?

I hope this does not come across as a moan at Simon. If it does, shame on me.

martin ???

I hope he's flattered that we like his stuff so much 😄

He's certainly perfected the art of good scenery.

martin goddard

It is a tough situation.

John Watson

Any updates on S and A? I tried their new website a couple of weeks ago and it said that it was down due to some technical web issue (hacking or the like). I tried it again today and it has gone completely now.

John,

Not much better but I get "I had hoped to re open the website following a period of closure due to ongoing health issues. Unfortunately a catastrophic server crash that affected numerous other companies has delayed this. I hope to have the website up open for busines by the end of August so please keep checking back."

That's the message I used to get Derek, but now I don't even get that.

Leman (Andy)

The new website is up and running.

Yes - we all need to be using the "S and A Scenics" (capitalised) rather than the "S and A scenics" (lower case) thread  :)

I'll lock this one for clarity.
